This piece is 100% hand fabricated from metal plate; cut into sections and soldered together to make the hollow three dimensional form. If sterling silver, the sheet metal is made by hand. The silver is melted and rolled out into plate.
Foldforming is the process of folding metal. Sheet metal is heated (annealed) and folded, like paper, by being hammered around an anvil. The process of folding and unfolding gives way to many possible line patterns and geometries.
This piece uses creation methods and finishing techniques that vary from piece to piece. All processes are done by hand and therefore variation in the final product should be expected and will not be exactly as seen in the photo.
